Although the construction industry has been steadily growing for years, the competitive pressure is extremely high and the demands placed on the vehicles keep increasing. To stay ahead of the game, one must calculate carefully.

So that you can load more during every run and bring in more profit, we focus our efforts on light-weight construction. This is realised through a combination of weight-reduced chassis, engines and drives.

Slippery ground, mud, rubble and gravel - construction sited are a challenge even for experienced truck drivers. To avoid getting stuck in rough terrain, it takes vehicles with powerful and extremely wear-resistant drives.

For particularly high traction requirements, we recommend permanent or switchable all-wheel drives. If you only temporarily need more traction, the switchable MAN HydroDrive^® front-wheel drive is ideal, and weighs in at approx. 400 kg less than classic all-wheel drives, depending on the wheel configuration. In addition, the off-road function of the automated MAN TipMatic^® gearbox improves the off-road characteristics of your MAN construction vehicle.

Narrow access routes, areas of the construction site which are difficult to reach, permanent lack of space. What construction sites need the most are agile vehicles that are easy to manoeuvre between construction machines and materials.

Thanks to their compact design, MAN construction site vehicles are easy to manoeuvre. Furthermore, they offer additional functions for extra manoeuvrability: as for example the MAN turning brake, which brakes the rear wheels on the inside of the bend and thus reduces the bend radius. The steered trailing axle improves handling and effects a smaller turning circle.

Chassis must be constructed in such a way that any bodies can be realised quickly and at low costs.

MAN trucks are among the most body-friendly on the market: With their exhaust being either set further back or moved to the right, they offer plenty of space for individual bodies and the installation of additional supports. Powerful PTOs deliver the required power for the hydraulics of their tipper or crane attachment.

Driving through gravel pits, winding terrain and steep slopes while fully loaded requires an extremely robust vehicle with high driving stability.

MAN trucks come with solid frame stability as standard, making them suitable for all applications. The highest level of driving stability is achieved by optimally adjusted chassis for all applications, as for example the MAN construction site air suspension with electronic level control. It automatically adjusts the suspension to the load condition. In addition, the Continuous Damping Control (CDC) prevents the vehicles from tipping over in bends or during rapid braking manoeuvres.

Although modern trucks are equipped with continuous brakes, there is still a chance that they may reach their limits on steep slopes. This means that the braking distance may increase and reach a safety critical level.

Thanks to two innovative brake technologies, MAN construction site vehicles effectively curb hazardous situations. The TurboEVBec^®engine brake provides maximum brake output in the upper engine speed range. The hydrodynamic MAN PriTarder^® continuous brake, on the other hand, offers an enormous brake output of 620 kW even at low speeds.
